Position Overview
The Path of Life Director of Development is responsible for private fundraising and advancement activities to aid in the organization’s ability to further the mission of rescuing, restoring, and rebuilding lives of those affected by homelessness. As a member of the Path of Life Leadership team, the Director of Development works closely with the CEO to develop strategy to meet annual fundraising goals including implementation plans for annual, major, and planned gifts, prospect management, fundraising events and activities, and strategic partnerships. The Director of Development may manage a team of volunteers, collaborate with the Board of Directors on development activities, and coordinate with staff in cultivating and soliciting gifts, donor recognition, volunteer management, in-kind donations, messaging, and marketing as they relate to furthering and supporting the achievement of development goals.
Responsibilities:
Corporate Representation
Represent the agency and CEO in a way that fosters trust, inspiration, confidence, and assurance amongst donors, the public, the Board of Directors, partners, and staff
Presentations to the Board, community and civic partners as assigned by the CEO
Philanthropic Support
Solidify the private and corporate donations necessary to meet annual budgets, sustain the future of the organization, and enhance opportunities for growth.
Create and execute a development strategy approved by the CEO that includes annual plans for annual, major, planned, and in-kind giving as well as campaigns, events, and strategic partnerships.
Responsible for developing and implementing donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition strategies.
Maintains a donor portfolio and supports the management of the CEO’s donor portfolio.
Develops and maintains advancement-related policies and procedures and oversees donor and gift records, prospect research and management, gift acknowledgement, and other advancement services activities.
Manage the Bob Fund, Path of Life’s annual giving program.
Manage the major gift and planned giving programs.
Develop and manage corporate and congregational relations.
Manage the advancement department’s budget.
Planning and executing successful events that help identify new prospective donors, educate, and inspire donors, and bring in gift income.
Implement and manage development and communications software tools
Nurture strategic partnerships with the Board, Volunteers and Community Groups
Collaborate with internal Communications and Marketing Department to ensure maximum use of internal resources to meet strategy goals

A demonstrated history of success in inviting donors to make their best gift and securing that gift
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, English, Marketing, Nonprofits, Development, or compensatory experience
Working knowledge of MS Office Applications, social media sites, and donor management software
Certificates in Fundraising Management and/or Philanthropy
Experience with Capital Campaigns, Prospect Management, Major Gift Acquisition, Fundraising Events, Annual Gifts, Donor Development, Marketing, Volunteer Management, and Database Management
At least two years prior fund-raising experience
Non-profit experience
Employment eligibility verification including background check
Personal transportation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting for long periods of time
Lifting or carrying up to 30lbs for short distances
