Frequently Asked Questions

I’d like to volunteer in the shelters. When can I volunteer?
Our Shelter Guests leave the shelters by 8 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. seven days a week. Regular volunteer times are from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. seven days a week. Other volunteer times can be scheduled at the discretion of the Shelter Director, Assistant Shelter Directors, Program Directors, and Administration.

If you are under 18-years old, you must be accompanied by an adult when you volunteer. Your parent/guardian must submit a Volunteer Application prior to your service. If you have to complete a community service project, which has specific requirements, please send your project information to giving@thepathoflife.com. Please do not submit any Volunteer Applications until you have received a response about your project inquiry.
Are background checks conducted for volunteers?
Our organization conducts background checks on all individuals interested in volunteering with us. Therefore, please submit your Volunteer Application at least two weeks in advance if you have special circumstances because we may not accommodate last minute requests.
